Olympia, WA : Driver crashes, flips stolen car in Beacon Hill on Wednesday, December 28th 2016
A man fled the scene after stealing a car, crashing it into a curb and hitting a light pole Wednesday night, the King County Sheriff's Office said.
The crash occurred near Martin Luther King Jr. Way South and South Henderson Street in Seattle's Beacon Hill neighborhood.
The driver was headed southbound and driving erratically, the Sheriff's Office said. Seattle Fire responded at 7:17 p.m.
Authorities said the car was stolen and that the man may have been trying to pass another car when he hit the curb and rolled over.
The car came to a rest after hitting a pole, authorities said.
The crash occurred near the light rail. The Sheriff's Office said the rail was not badly damaged.
Authorities have discontinued a search for the driver.
