BADGER, IA : Man ID’d in Badger rollover crash on Saturday, March 4th 2017
A man who died after rolling his car on a gravel road near Badger has been identified as Corey Grossnickle, according to the Webster County Sheriff’s Department.
Grossnickle, 36, of Fort Dodge, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident happened about three miles outside of Fort Dodge. Authorities do not know when it occurred, but the accident was discovered and reported around 8:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
According to Sgt. Tony Walter, of the Webster County Sheriff’s Department, Grossnickle was traveling westbound on 160th Street in a white Chevrolet Impala.
When his vehicle was nearing Quail Avenue, Walter said Grossnickle lost control. He was unable to regain control and rolled into the south ditch.
Grossnickle reportedly had his dog with him at the time of the crash.
Walter said the dog was found alive inside the car.
The dog was taken by animal control to a local veterinarian to see if it had any injuries, according to Walter.
The Webster County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the accident and was assisted on scene by the Iowa State Patrol, Fort Dodge Police Department, Webster County medical examiner’s office, Badger Fire Department and Vincent Fire Department.
