HARTFORD, CT : Motorcyclist killed from rear-ending pickup truck on I-84 in Hartford on Wednesday, 26th April 2023

A motorcyclist from Hartford died when he slammed into the back of a pickup truck on Interstate-84 on Wednesday night, state police confirmed.

State police identified the rider as 28-year-old Jose Guillermo Torres.

Troopers said Torres rode a Suzuki GSX on I-84 west in Hartford. Shortly after 6:15 p.m., he rear-ended the GMC pickup truck just west of exit 50.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation said the highway was closed between Exits 51 and 50 as a result. The Interstate 91 south and I-91 north on ramps to I-84 west were also closed, state police reported.
