Monroeville ,PA : No Students injured after Monroeville school bus and Car Collided on Wednesday ,April 29 2015
Monroeville, Pennsylvania
A car collided with a stationary Monroeville school bus transporting students early Wednesday, according to an email from the school district's superintendent.
No students or staff members were injured.
At about 7:15 a.m., the northbound bus stopped near a railroad crossing on Ohio 99, in the village, according to Monroeville Schools superintendent Ralph Moore's email.
An approaching driver apparently didn't see the stopped bus, triggering a rear-end collision.
The bus sustained minor damage to its rear, but the involved car suffered extensive damage.
Monroeville police responded to the scene, as well as Monroeville Schools transportation supervisor Don Beck, Moore said in his email.
At about 7:30 a.m., Monroeville Schools sent out an automated phone message to alert district parents of the incident.
Officials then called another district school bus to transport the students to school from the scene. The bus contained students from various grades, as the district's school buses transport students in grades 1-12.
