McKeesport, PA : Driver dies following rear-end collision in Dravosburg on Monday, May 16, 2016

A West Mifflin man died Monday in a crash in Dravosburg when his vehicle was struck from behind and pushed into oncoming traffic.

The crash happened about 12:50 p.m. on Route 837, Allegheny County police Lt. Andrew Schurman said.

Bernard Sharik, 53, was driving north when he stopped to turn into a business. That's when his vehicle was struck from behind.

He was rushed to UMPC Mercy, Uptown, where he was pronounced dead at 1:36 p.m. An autopsy will be performed Tuesday, a supervisor at the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's office said.

Police are investigating the crash. The Allegheny County District Attorney's Office will decide whether to file charges after reviewing the police's findings, Schurman said.
