New Hudson, MI : South Lyon woman dies in head-on collision on Tuesday, July 1, 2014

A 76-year-old South Lyon woman was killed in a head-on collision on Milford Road outside Coyote Golf Course in New Hudson around 11:30 a.m., July 1, Sgt. Mark Venus of the Oakland County Sheriff’s department said.

The woman was traveling southbound behind a pickup truck that was turning left into the New Hudson golf course. She swerved into oncoming traffic and was struck head on by a van that was traveling northbound.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Alcohol was not considered a factor, Venus said. No one else reported serious injuries.

The South Lyon woman was wearing a seat belt.

Both northbound and southbound Milford Road were closed to traffic.
