POLK COUNTY, FL : Man killed following Polk County crash on Thursday, 19th January 2024

A man died after he was hit by a driver early Thursday morning on US-92 in Polk County, the sheriff's office said in a news release.

The crash happened around 4:44 a.m. on US 92 at Old Dixie Highway, west of Auburndale near Lakeland.

Few details have been released at this time, but the sheriff's office says the man was a pedestrian when he was hit by a driver. The driver stayed at the scene, deputies said.
