Grantville,KS : Head-on crash near Grantville, two in hospital on October, Thursday 12th 2017

The eastbound lane of Highway 24 near Grantville has re-opened after a head-on crash.

Sheriff Jeff Herrig in Jefferson County confirmed with KSNT News Thursday night. The crash happened around 7:00 p.m. near the small town of Grantville.

Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating the accident and says two vehicles were involved in the crash.

The Donna Lavin, 21, was driving the wrong way in the eastbound lanes of HWY 24. Dennilson Pineda-Ortega,19, was driving westbound and side swiped Lavin causing him to drive off the road into a ditch.

The passenger of Lavin’s car, Diana Calderon, 19, and Pineda-Ortega were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
