ST. CHARLES TOWNSHIP, IL : Creston man dead, Sycamore man injured after crash in St. Charles Twp on Thursday, 27th February, 2020

One man died and another was injured after a single vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in unincorporated St. Charles, according to a news release from the Kane County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver, Austin Johnsen, 25, of Creston, was transported to Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His passenger, Marcus E. Holtman, 26, of Sycamore, was flown to Good Samaritan Hospital where he is being treated for his injuries, the release stated.

The initial investigation indicates that a silver Chevy Trailblazer was traveling north on Fox River Drive just after 4 p.m. when it struck a tree on the west side of the roadway, just south of the intersection with Weber Road. Both men were ejected from the vehicle, the release stated.

The collision remains under investigation.
