Poteau, OK : Motorcyclist injured in a vehicle collision at LeFlore County On Wednesday, May 4th, 2016

A Spiro man who was driving a motorcycle is in a Fort Smith hospital following a collision in LeFlore County, according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Daniel Lovejoy, 43, was driving a Yamaha motorcycle and was taken to Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith for treatment of trunk internal injuries, according to OHP. He was listed in stable condition.

Police said he was wearing a helmet during the collision.

Mandy Miller, 35, of Spiro, who was driving a Honda Civic, was not injured during the collision, according to OHP. She was wearing her seat belt at the time.

The collision happened at 2.27 p.m. Wednesday on U.S. 271, about 3.5 miles east of Spiro, when Miller turned into Lovejoy's path, heading west out of a private drive onto the highway, according to OHP.
