Motorcyclist dies after colliding with City of Henderson pickup

A 21-year-old Henderson man died late Saturday after colliding his Suzuki GSXR 600 with a City of Henderson pickup near Whitney Ranch Drive and Patrick Lane.
Witnesses told Police the motorcycle rider was traveling southbound on Whitney Ranch Drive at a high rate of speed when he collided into a Ford F-150 driven by Danielle Havis, 24, a City of Henderson employee.
Havis was making a left hand turn from Plain Sight Avenue onto northbound Whitney Ranch Drive at about 3:50 p.m. Saturday.
The motorcycle rider, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected onto the windshield of the truck.
Witnesses on the scene told FOX5 the motorcycle rider was pulled from the windshield of the truck by paramedics.
The motorcycle rider was taken to Sunrise Hospital Trauma for treatment, but he died about 11:50 p.m. Saturday.
Havis, who was working at the time of the accident, sustained minor injuries.
It is unknown at this time if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
Havis submitted to blood testing.The investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
The Clark County Coroner's Office will release the victim's name after his family has been notified.
Whitney Ranch Drive was closed for over three hours while the investigation and clean up was conducted.
So far this year there have been seven fatal accidents resulting in 10 deaths in Henderson.
