SAN LEANDRO, CA : Coroner names solo fatal I-880 crash victim on Sunday, December, 3rd 2017

The Alameda County Sheriff’s Officer coroner’s bureau has named a Michigan man killed in an apparent solo crash on Interstate 880 early Sunday.

Jajuan Morton, 23, of Taylor, Michigan, died after the white Dodge Charger sedan he was driving just before 3 a.m. in southbound lanes of I-880 just north of Davis Street veered to the right side of the roadway before striking a pole and catching fire, the California Highway Patrol said.

CHP officers and firefighters responded to the scene to set up a traffic break and provide life-saving measures, but Morton was pronounced dead at the scene just before 3:30 a.m..

No other information was immediately released Sunday.
