Naples, FL: Naples woman seriously injured in I-75 crash on Tuesday, July 21st 2015
A crash along Interstate 75 near the Lee and Collier county line Tuesday morning put traffic at a standstill as crews worked to save a woman injured in the wreck.
Lora Sullivan, 37, of Naples, was flown by air ambulance to Lee Memorial Hospital after her 2011 Honda Civic veered off the road. Reports show she had minor injuries.
The single-vehicle crash took place at 7:27 a.m. near mile marker 114 in the northbound lanes.Troopers who responded to the scene found Sullivan’s vehicle in the eastern grassy shoulder of the interstate, facing northeast.Reports indicate Sullivan was driving north in the center lane about two miles south of the Bonita Beach Road exit when she veered into the left lane for an unknown reason then overcorrected back into the center lane. She then veered to the right, crossing the outside lane before hitting the shoulder.Charges are pending in the case, which remains under investigation. Alcohol was not a factor, officials said. The interstate’s northbound lanes were shut down for about 20 minutes to make way for a helicopter landing zone as crews arranged for a transport.
