OAKFIELD, NY : Two injured in Oakfield accident on Monday, November, 6th 2017
Two women were taken to Medina Memorial Hospital Monday after the white Chevy in which they were traveling was struck at around 9:30 a.m. by a truck on Main Street near Maple Avenue.
Oakfield firefighters freed one of the women from the vehicle after getting the front passenger side door open. The women were Carol Sanders, 74, and Victoria White, 52, both of Medina. Both suffered minor injuries, state police said at the scene.
The driver of the white Chevy, Ronald Sanders, 74, of Medina, was reportedly uninjured. He signed off at the scene, state police said.
“There were three people (n the vehicle),” a trooper at the scene said. “The driver was not injured — at least, when I was talking to him, he didn’t claim injury.”
Mercy Medic 3 transported Carol Sanders and White to Medina Memorial and Ronald Sanders was given a ride to the hospital, firefighters said.
The driver of the truck, Jeffrey Mullen, 20, of Batavia, was not hurt, state police said. He was ticketed for failure to yield right-of-way.
State police said Mullen was pulling out of a driveway and his truck struck the Chevy as it was heading south on Main Street. Along with state police and Oakfield firefighters, the Genesee County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene.
