KINGSTREE, SC : Driver killed after train hits car on Tuesday, November 29th 2016

Troopers say a driver who attempted to drive around cross arms at a train crossing died when his vehicle was struck by an oncoming train.
The crash happened at approximately 12:46 a.m. Tuesday, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol Cpl. Sonny Collins.
The driver of a Ford Focus was traveling east on Eastland Avenue near Highway 52 when the driver attempted to drive around crossing arms which were down to indicate a train was approaching, Collins said.
While attempting to drive around the arms, the driver's car was struck by an Amtrak train, killing the motorist, Collins said.
