PENDLETON, IN : One person died following a two-vehicle crash on Indiana 67 on Thursday, 15th March 2018
One person died following a two-vehicle crash on Indiana 67 south of the Interstate 69 exit Thursday afternoon.
A Dodge pickup truck collided with a Chevrolet sport utility vehicle at the intersection of Ind. 67 and Pendleton Avenue around 1 p.m.
The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at St. Vincent Anderson hospital, Madison County Sheriff Scott Mellinger said in a press release. The identity of the victim has not been released.
Austin Sanner, 19, of Fortville was driving the truck and was being treated for arm and back pain at St. Vincent, Mellinger said.
The SUV was turning onto Ind. 67 from North Pendleton Avenue when the southbound truck, which had the right of way, collided with the SUV, according to the press release. The SUV came to a stop across the highway, on the east side of the road.
Pendleton Fire Department, Pendleton Police Department, Pendleton Emergency Medical Services, Madison County Sheriff's Department, Madison County Emergency Management Agency and Anderson Fire Department responded to the accident.
