Cleveland, OH : Off-duty police officer injured in a car crash on Cleveland's west side on Thursday afternoon, December 10, 2015

A Cleveland police officer has been hurt in a car crash in his cruiser on Cleveland's west side.

Officials say it happened Thursday afternoon near the intersection of West 126th Street and Lorain Avenue. The front of both vehicles have serious damage.

The officer has neck and back injuries and was taken to Fairview Hospital, according to Cleveland police.

The crash remains under investigation.
