Olympia, WA : One person was killed in a crash on Old Highway 99 on Wednesday, August 16, 2017

One person was killed in a crash on Old Highway 99 Wednesday afternoon, according to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash occurred near Sargent Road Southwest at about 2:45 p.m. when a sedan pulled onto the highway and collided with a southbound tractor-trailer, the sheriff’s office wrote in a news release.

The drive of the sedan, a woman, was killed. A passenger in the tractor-trailer was taken to a local hospital with a minor injury.

The highway was closed Wednesday for the investigation.
