Oglethorpe County, GA : Athens man killed in weekend crash near the Oglethorpe County line, Athens-Clarke County on Saturday, 7th July 2018

A 68-year-old Athens man was killed over the weekend in a two-car crash near the Oglethorpe County line, Athens-Clarke County police said.

Police said they were notified about the crash at 11:22 p.m. Saturday.

Willie James Greene of Northcrest Drive was killed when his car rolled through a stop sign on Double Bridges Road and into the path of an SUV heading east on Lexington Road, police said. Greene was the car’s sole occupant.
