Boulder Canyon, CO : One person died and four injured in Rollover crash in Boulder Canyon on Tuesday evening, Aug 4, 2015
The driver of a Pontiac Firebird in Boulder Canyon on Tuesday evening failed to negotiate a left-hand curve, struck a tree and rolled the car, killing one person and sending four others to the hospital, officials said.
According to Colorado State Patrol Trooper Nate Reid, the single-car crash, which was reported at about 5 p.m. by mile marker 31 of Colo. 119, killed one passenger when she was ejected.
The Boulder County coroner will release her name, but Reid did identify the passenger as an adult woman.
The four others in the car — three adults and one child — were taken by ambulance and helicopter to area hospitals. State Patrol has not yet released their names or ages, either.
Colo. 119 was closed at Sugarloaf Road westbound and at Nederland eastbound, according to the Sheriff's Office. Those closures were expected to be lifted by about 11 p.m., Reid said.
