Florida Highway Patrol troopers have tracked down an accused hit and run driver in Pinellas County.
Christopher F. Dohmen, 24, of Palm Harbor, was the driver of a speeding car that collided with another vehicle on Belcher Road north of Alderman Road Monday night, authorities said.
Investigators say a 1999 Chrysler 300, registered to Dohmen, was traveling about 100 miles per hour when it slammed into a 2014 Nissan Altima. The Chrysler driver ran from the scene after the crash.
Angela Love, 25, of Largo, who was a passenger in the Chrysler, was thrown from car. She was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa, where she was last reported in stable condition.
The three people in the Altima were taken to Florida Hospital North, where they were treated for minor injuries and released.
Love has been arrested for committing battery on EMS personnel following the crash and violation of probation.
State troopers located and arrested Dohmen at Ulmerton Road and US Highway 19.
He was taken to the Pinellas County Jail for booking.
Dohmen was charged with leaving the scene of a crash with injury, leaving the scene with property damage, driving while license suspended,
and ticketed for speeding and careless driving, a report said.
