Rogersville, TN : Passenger killed when car hit mule-drawn carriage on 11-W in Rogersville on Sunday, December 13, 2015

A passenger in a mule-drawn carriage is dead after it was hit by a car on Highway 11-W in Rogersville.

The deadly crash happened before 6pm Sunday, and the Tennessee Highway Patrol released its report, Monday morning.

Authorities said Travis North of Thorn Hill, Tennessee, was heading southbound on 11-W near Brooks Landing Circle when he hit the mule-drawn carriage from behind, ejecting all three people inside.

Passenger Deborah Burton of Rogersville was pronounced dead at the scene. Driver Mickey Burton and passenger Levi Cole Osborne had to be flown to the hospital.

The wagon was destroyed. Debris from the crash hit a semi-truck that was also in the area.

No charges have been filed.
