Lexington, KY : 1 evacuated in 2-vehicle collision on Wednesday, 11th December, 2019

A two-vehicle collision Wednesday morning saw an unidentified person flown to an area hospital by helicopter.

According to a press release from the Paragould Police Department, Paragould Emergency Services began receiving phone calls regarding the crash on Reynolds Road between Case and Clifft Streets, starting at about 5:34 a.m.

According to police, initial callers said that the crash involved a city of Paragould sanitation truck and a pickup truck.

"When I got to Reynolds Road, at about 6:30," said witness Karen Exelby, "the pickup was damaged all the way back as far as the windshield, and even the trash truck was pushed up at the back."

"Our truck had stalled," said city Director of Public Works Terry McAbee on Wednesday afternoon. "It had just quit running."

McAbee said the pickup then apparently rear-ended the city truck. According to Paragould Police Department officers, the Paragould Fire Department and AMMC Ambulance Service responded to the scene and found two subjects injured.
