HERMON, ME : Sheriff's office investigating three-vehicle crash in Hermon on Wednesday, 13th September 2023

The Penobscot County Sheriff's Office is investigating a three-vehicle crash on Route 2 in Hermon, in the area of Spruce Street and Hillcrest Drive.

It happened shortly after 7 a.m. Wednesday, according to a release from the sheriff's office.

Deputies determined a vehicle pulled out of a driveway into the path of an oncoming vehicle, causing the two vehicles to collide and one of the vehicles to strike a utility pole, the release stated. The impact from the vehicle caused the utility pole to collapse and come to rest on top of one of the vehicles involved, according to the release. A third vehicle attempted to avoid the collision and, in the process, went off the roadway and rolled over, officials said.
