Deputy Chief Clay Jones said officers responded to a fight at a restaurant on Central Avenue around 5 p.m. Witnesses told officers they saw a man ram another vehicle in an attempt to leave the scene.
Jones said witnesses pointed out the vehicle to police when it returned, and that’s when the chase began. Officials identified the driver as Marshall Smith, of D’Iberville.
