Police in North Carolina have made an arrest in a hit and run death.

Durham police said in a news release Wednesday night that 38-year-old Justin Roger Poindexter of Durham was arrested and charged with felony hit and run. It was not known if Poindexter has an attorney yet.

Police spokeswoman Kammie Michael said 72-year-old Phillip Shaw of Durham was struck and killed around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The investigation is continuing.
