Miami Beach, FL : Driver runs after striking pedestrian in crosswalk near South Beach early Tuesday, Oct 13, 2015

Police are looking for a man who was driving a BMW that fatally struck a pedestrian walking across a street near South Beach.

Miami Beach police say the crash happened early Tuesday as the car sped along Collins Avenue. It struck the man as he was in a crosswalk.

Police say the man fled the scene, but three women who were passengers stayed and were questioned by investigators.

The pedestrian died on the scene. Busy Collins Avenue remains closed as homicide officers investigate.
