Sarasota, FL : Englewood pedestrian dies in accident on Friday evening, July 22, 2016
An Englewood pedestrian was struck and killed Friday evening, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Reported dead is Kathleen Stringham, 60, of Englewood.
According to FHP reports, a Ford F350 truck driven by Richard W. Edwards, 48, of Englewood, was traveling north in the right lane of State Road 776, approaching Perry Lane. Stringham, who was walking north on a sidewalk along S.R. 776, stepped into the roadway to cross over and was struck by Edwards' vehicle. There is no crosswalk at the point of the accident.
Stringham was pronounced dead on the scene, due to her injuries. The FHP reports alcohol was not involved in the accident.
No charges have been filed at this time.
