Milwaukee, WI : 17-year-old Milwaukee boy killed in a two-vehicle crash in Bay View on Wednesday, April 22, 2015

A teenager killed in a two-vehicle crash in Bay View Wednesday was identified by Milwaukee police as Ricardo E. Santillan, 17.

The crash happened shortly after 11 a.m. at the corner of E. Euclid Ave. and S. Taylor Ave.

Santillan was driving a 2001 GMC Sierra pickup truck eastbound on E. Euclid approaching S. Taylor when, police said, he apparently opened his door while driving to examine a possible mechanical issue. That's when a 2003 Honda Civic driven by a 59-year-old man headed north on S. Taylor collided with the pickup at an uncontrolled intersection, police said.

The teen was thrown from the pickup and died on the way to the hospital.

Three passengers in the pickup, a 17-year-old man and two 18-year-old men, were not injured.

The driver of the Civic was not injured in the crash, police said.
