One dead in fatal crash in Sale Creek

Last night's storms may have been a factor in a fatal, single vehicle crash in Sale Creek.

Just before midnight on Dayton Pike and Highway 27, near the Patterson Road intersection.

A silver SUV slammed head first into a large tree.

Deputies cordoned off the crash scene with tape and confirm it was a fatal collision, offering no additional information.

But it appears the driver lost control of the northbound vehicle, skidding across two oncoming lanes of traffic before hitting the tree on the southbound shoulder.
