LAMAR COUNTY, MS : 1 killed in Lamar Co. wreck on Thursday, 6th October 2016

A Thursday night crash claimed the the life of a Lamar County man.

Kristian Morris, 41, of Purvis, was pronounced dead at Forrest General Hospital at 12:05 a.m., according to Forrest County Deputy Coroner Lisa Klem.

According to Mississippi Highway Patrol public information officer Brent Barfield, the wreck occurred around 11:15 p.m. at the White Chapel and Highway 11 intersection near Purvis.

Barfield said Morris was traveling northbound on a motorcycle when he collided with a 2015 Kia that was traveling southbound on Highway 11.

The cause of the wreck is still under investigation, according to Barfield.
