Capitol City, CO : Dad crashed his car on purpose in attempt to kill his toddler on Sunday, August 21st, 2016

Nathan Weitzel, 29, crashed his car at up to 75mph while high on cocaine on August 21. His son, Isaiah, was treated for cuts, concussion and a broken leg but the injuries are not thought to be life-threatening, the Denver Post reports.
Weitzel told arriving officers that he had driven around Arapahoe County in Colorado looking for a ‘good place to crash the car and kill his son’ because, according to arrest documents, ‘he did not think he was man enough to raise a child.’Weitzel is is charged with a string of offences which include attempted first-degree murder, child abuse resulting in serious injury, second-degree assault and vehicular assault. In the wake of the crash a GoFundMe page was launched to help to pay for Isaiah’s treatment.‘Nancy Lopez is the loving and hardworking single mother of her son, Isaiah. On Sunday, Isaiah was a passenger involved in a life-threatening car accident,’ the page reads.
Ms Lopez is taking 10 weeks off work to care for her toddler, the page adds.
