Holly Pond man killed in Thursday night crash in Cullman Alabama
A Holly Pond man was killed Thursday night at 9:30 p.m. in a two-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 278 near Holly Pond.Timothy Haynes, 40, was killed in the crash.
He was driving a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle, according to police reports. The Cullman County Coroner’s office says Haynes died of injuries sustained in the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The second vehicle involved, a 2001 Chevrolet van, was driven by Carolyn McCravy, 74, of Holly Pond. McCravy and her passenger Ival Thomas, 73, of Cullman sustained minor injuries. Both were wearing seatbelts.
McCravy and Thomas were transported to Cullman Regional Medical Center as a precaution and were released early Friday morning.Thomas currently serves as a town council member in the municipality of Holly Pond.
Both vehicles were traveling eastbound and authorities say Haynes’ motorcycle appears to have struck the van as McCravy was turning into her driveway.
