Saline County ,IL: Brian S. Barringer, 43 airlifted to hospital after crash on Saturday ,August 1 2015

Illinois State Police were called to a traffic crash Saturday that caused one man to be airlifted to an Indiana hospital.

According to the preliminary traffic crash investigation, Brian S. Barringer, 43, of Marion, was driving south on U.S. 45 north of Cook Road at approximately 9 a.m.

Officials say he then unexpectedly drove into the north bound lane and struck a semi trailer being pulled by Andrew J. Harris, 31, of Champaign.

Barringer was transported by helicopter to an Evansville, Indiana hospital for treatment of injuries.

There has been no information released on the condition of either driver.

ISP District 19 was assisted at the crash scene by the Saline Co. Sheriff’s Department, Eldorado PD, Eldorado Fire Department.

Charges are currently pending.
