Fort Myers ,FL : 68- Years old Michael Krochmal killed and another Critically injured after fatal Lee crash on Sunday ,May 17th 2015
Two men who were not wearing seat belts were ejected from their vehicle in a rollover crash early Monday morning.
It happened at Good Hope Road at 3:15 a.m.
North Shore Fire Department Public Information Officer Dan Tyk told WISN 12 News the men, ages 21 and 25, were ejected from their vehicle. They were taken to Froedtert Hospital with serious to critical injuries.
“To get ejected from a car, you're lucky to survive that,” North Shore Fire Department Chief David Whitaker said.
Whitaker said it takes a tremendous amount of force to break through a windshield but wearing a seat belt can make all the difference.
“The purpose of the seat belt is to keep you in one place, even if you're upside down,” Whitaker said.
That’s why law enforcement in Milwaukee County, and statewide, are stepping up patrols for seat belt use in the "Click It or Ticket" campaign.
