LEWISTON, ME : 2 Maine motorcyclists killed in separate crashes on Route 1 on Friday, 7th June 2019

Two Maine motorcyclists were killed Thursday in separate crashes, according to police.

Police in Wiscasset said George Christopher, 62, of Alna, died when a pickup truck hit his motorcycle on Route 1 in the area of Norm's Used Cars.Christopher died at the scene, police said. The crash remains under investigation.

Lewiston police say a man was killed when he lost control of his motorcycle near the corner of North Temple Street and Orchard Circle.

The crash was reported at 6 p.m. Police said Damien Pinard, 27, of Buckfield, went off the road, crashed through bushes near a home and come to a stop next to the home.

Police believe speed was a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
