An Evansville man was killed in a crash involving a taxi in south Nashville late Saturday afternoon.
57-year-old Ronald Edwards died from injuries sustained in the accident. Seven other people were injured, including three Evansville residents.
Police say seven people were riding in a Music City Taxi vehicle, which collided with another car around 4 p.m. Saturday.
The accident happened near the intersection of Mt. Pisgah Road and Ravens Glen in south Nashville.
Edwards was one of six passengers in the taxi. He died at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
The other passengers of the taxi included 54-year-old Karen Edwards of Evansville, 64-year-old Daniel Mooney of Evansville, 59-year-old Mary Mooney of Evansville, 57-year-old Daniel Spence of Nashville, and 57-year-old Donna Spence of Nashville.
Edwards and the Mooneys were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Daniel Mooney had critical injuries, according to a police release. Edwards and Mary Mooney had non-life threatening injuries.
The other passengers and both drivers did not suffer critical injuries, according to the NBC affiliate.
Police believe the taxi driver failed to yield at the intersection. Authorities say there was no indication of alcohol or drug use at the scene.
