Sacramento, CA : Two California residents killed in a crash near White City on Thursday, December, 28th 2017
Two California residents killed Thursday in a crash near White City involving a semitrailer have been identified as Vernon and Rachael Black of Rancho Cucamonga, California, according to Oregon State Police.
At about 1:15 p.m. Thursday, Vernon Black, 65, had been driving northbound on Kershaw Road in the couple’s 2013 Toyota Camry sedan when the car failed to stop at the Highway 140 intersection east of White City. Rachael Black, 59, was in the passenger seat when the dark-colored sedan pulled into the path of a 2001 Freightliner semitrailer headed westbound on Highway 140, driven by Kelly Kime, 49, of the Grants Pass area.
Medical personnel pronounced Mr. and Mrs. Black dead at the scene. Kime was not injured in the crash and has been cooperating with investigators, according to the release.
Investigation of the crash closed Kershaw road for several hours Thursday afternoon until just after 6 p.m., according to previous news reports.
