Hunterdon County, N.J : 1 person killed in multi-vehicle crash on I-78 in Readington Township on Saturday afternoon, August 27, 2016

New Jersey State Police say at least one person was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on I-78 Saturday afternoon. It happened around 1:30 p.m. in the westbound lanes of I-78 in Readington Township, Hunterdon County, near mile marker 24. State police could not confirm how many cars were involved in the wreck, but they say two people were flown from the scene and at least one person died.

Both westbound lanes of I-78 were closed while crews cleared the scene. State police say there is no additional information at this time, and the crash remains under investigation. This is the second major accident to happen on I-78 West in a matter of hours. Saturday morning, several people were injured in a crash in Union Township.
