Gray, ME : Motorcyclist seriously injured in collision with pickup in Cumberland County on Wednesday evening, June 8, 2016

A motorcycle rider suffered serious injuries early Wednesday evening in a collision with a pickup truck, Capt. Scott Stewart of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

The crash happened about 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Depot and Mayall roads, when Ronald B. Dyer, 79, of North Yarmouth, who was traveling east on his motorcycle on Mayall Road, collided with a truck owned by Hancock Lumber and driven by Joseph N. Koval, 42, of Yarmouth, who was heading north on Depot Road.

Dyer was taken to Central Maine Medical Center with serious injuries, Stewart said.

He said the crash is being investigated by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with the Gray Fire Department.
