BOWDOIN, ME : A Lewiston woman was killed on Wednesday, August 23, 2017
Police say a Lewiston woman was killed when she ran a stop sign Wednesday afternoon and her car was struck by an SUV in Bowdoin.
Sagadahoc County Sheriff Joel Merry identified the victim as Amanda Gauvin, 37, who was driving a 2003 Ford Focus north on West Road in Bowdoin and failed to stop at Store Road around 1:12 p.m. Her car was hit on the driver’s side by a 2008 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Geraldine Scanlon, 29, of Sabattus.
Gauvin died at the scene. Scanlon was not injured.
