Morristown,NJ : Man indicted in alcohol-related crash that killed 2 brothers on December, Tuesday 19th 2017
A motorist who authorities say was unlicensed and driving drunk when he caused a crash that killed his two brothers has been indicted on aggravated manslaughter charges.
Santos Javier Archaga-Mendoza also faces two counts each of death by auto and assault by auto in the indictment handed up Tuesday by a Morris County grand jury. The 36-year-old Dover man faces more than 50 years in prison if he’s convicted.
Authorities say the brothers and some friends had gone to a nightclub to celebrate Archaga-Mendoza’s birthday and were headed home when the crash occurred Sept. 24 on Route 46 in Dover.
The Daily Record reports that Archaga-Mendoza told police he lost control of the vehicle when his foot got stuck on the gas pedal as he tried to make a turn.
