OAKLAND, CA : A 69-year-old man was killed in East Oakland on Thursday, January, 25th 2018
A 69-year-old man was killed in East Oakland Thursday morning when he was hit by a vehicle that kept going after briefly stopping, police said.
The man was found dead about 1:24 a.m., in the 9200 block of MacArthur Boulevard. His name has not been released pending notification of family.
Police said the man was in the roadway when he was hit by a black compact-size vehicle going westbound on MacArthur.
Police said the driver stopped momentarily then drove away in the vehicle without waiting for police or other emergency personnel to respond. There was no description of the driver.
Police said it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the fatal collision.
