Yuma, AZ : Yuma partially open after vehicle crash near I-8 on Thursday morning, June 12, 2014

Transportation officials say a stretch of interstate east of Yuma has partially reopened following a crash and fire.

The Arizona Department of Transportation says Interstate 8 eastbound near Yuma reopened Thursday morning after a traffic crash involving a tractor-trailer.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a commercial truck carrying corrosive liquid caught fire around 8 a.m. on I-8, about 35 miles west of the Arizona-California border.

DPS spokesman Carrick Cook says one person was treated for inhalation.

Cook says the fire has since been extinguished but hazmat crews are now cleaning up the scene.

Westbound traffic lanes are still closed and motorists will have to take a detour.

ADOT says it's not clear when those lanes would open back up.
