Las Vegas, NV : 22-year-old man killed when pickup truck overturns in crash on Tuesday, November 11, 2014

The driver of a pickup truck was killed early today after making a U-turn on a northwest valley street and colliding with a car, Metro Police said. The accident happened about 1:30 a.m. on Cliff Shadows Parkway, near the 215 Beltway and Cheyenne Avenue. A 2004 Dodge Dakota pickup truck driven by a 22-year-old man was headed west on Cliff Shadows and was making a U-turn at the intersection with Novat Street, police said. At the same time, a 2014 Kia Sorento driven by a 67-year-old man was east on Cliff Shadows, police said. The pickup pulled into the path of the car and the vehicles collided, police said. The truck went off the road and overturned in the desert, police said. The driver of the pickup was pronounced dead at the scene. A 19-year-old passenger in the pickup had moderate injuries, police said. The crash resulted in the 70th traffic fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction this year.
