RIGA TWP, MI : Toledo woman was killed on Sunday, October, 8th 2017

A Toledo woman was killed during the weekend in a single-car accident on Yankee Rd. in Lenawee County, southwest of Ottawa Lake, and weather may have played a role in the crash.

The Michigan State Police of the Monroe post reported that Tiffany Lynn Shaw, 29, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident occurred around 11:50 p.m. Saturday on Yankee Rd. east of Riga Hwy. in Riga Township. Troopers reported that Shaw was heading east on Yankee in a 2007 Ford Five Hundred when she lost control.

The car went off the road and rolled over, causing the driver to be partially ejected from the vehicle. Troopers reported that Shaw was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. There were no reported witnesses to the crash, so troopers reported that it is unknown what time the crash occurred. However, from evidence at the scene, it is apparent that speed and weather were factors in the accident.
