Fort myers , FL : Motorcyclist was killed after Crash near Sunrise Blvd on Sturday , December 27th 2014

A motorcyclist is dead after an early morning crash in Fort Myers Saturday.

It happened on US-41 and Sunrise Boulevard at around 12:34 a.m.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, a motorcycle was traveling north on US-41 at a high rate of speed. At the same time, a pickup truck was going south on US-41.

The pickup truck attempted to turn left onto Sunrise Boulevard – entering the path of the motorcycle. The motorcycle collided with the back of the pickup truck.

The motorcyclist, identified as 25-year-old Kirk Steele, of Bonita Springs, was pronounced dead at the scene.
