NORTH EAST, MD : 2 children among dead in triple-fatal Cecil County crash in the 600 block of Mechanics Valley Road on Thursday, 23rd May 2019

Three children are among four people killed in a crash Thursday night in Cecil County.

According to the Cecil County Sheriff's Office, a 4-year-old boy, a 9-year-old boy, a 10-year-old girl and a 34-year-old man died in a crash around 9:36 p.m. in the 600 block of Mechanics Valley Road in North East.Authorities said the driver of a car lost control and the car spun sideways and was struck by a pickup truck. Two adults were front passengers in the car and four juveniles were in the back seat.

Deputies began CPR on two juveniles. The 4-year-old boy and man died at the scene, and the 10-year-old girl died at Union Hospital. A 9-year-old boy taken to Union Hospital, who was then flown to Johns Hopkins, has died.

The driver of the car, a 53-year-old Elkton woman, was flown to Shock Trauma in critical condition. A 13-year-old boy was flown to A.I. DuPont Hospital in Delaware in critical condition.

The sole occupant of the pickup truck, a 24-year-old Elkton man, was taken to Christiana Hospital in Delaware with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
