BELLEVILLE, IL : A car accident involving a vehicle rollover on Friday, July 28, 2017

A car accident involving a vehicle rollover resulted in two drivers being taken to the hospital Friday.

Samantha Owens, 31, of Belleville, and a female whose identity was not immediately available both suffered noncritical injuries in the accident, according to Owens’ father.

The unidentified driver’s car was flipped during the collision at the intersection of Illinois 13 and Hillside Lane, near Westfield Plaza, at about 4:30 p.m. She was extricated from the upside-down car and taken to the hospital. Officers on scene said she was not critically injured.

Owens’ friend and coworker, Rhealyn Alexander, said it appeared that Owens had started to pull out of Westfield Plaza and onto Illinois 13 when the other driver collided with her. Alexander said the driver was conscious after the collision.
