1 dead after accident at NM highway barricade Roswell New Mexico

A woman is dead and a Roswell police officer is critically injured in the wake of an accident after a shootout along a highway in southern New Mexico.The Roswell Daily Record reported.Tuesday a multi-car accident occurred as officials set up road blocks after Monday morning's shooting along US 285.New Mexico State Police say a commercial vehicle driving southbound plowed into a pickup truck, which caused a chain reaction with two more cars.The driver of the pickup, Rose Becerra, 39, struck a police sergeant and a median strip. Becerra, of Lake Arthur, was airlifted to a hospital where she died.The unidentified sergeant is in critical condition.
